When King Herod heard this (the birth of a new King) he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. ~ Matthew 2:3
Besides battling ants, which have now also discovered a new dining experience in our bathroom (note huge eye roll and very heavy sigh here), we performed various mundane activities around home, talked on the phone some, and went for a walk around the neighborhood. Gotta burn off at least a few of those anticipated dinner calories!
DOUBLE UGH!!!!
At some point in the next few days, once the ants are gone, I’m gonna have to break down and dust. I’m used to doing it every time we move, but we’ve not moved for quite a while, so I haven’t thought of it until the sun was shining this afternoon and pointed out the layer of dust. I knew there was a reason I’ve been liking those overcast days!
It’s a short post today. Enjoy the break! 😊
Oh! Dinner! We chose to dine at another David recommended place, Cajun Steamer. And yes, he went with us. Have you noticed that when we eat with him, we never take pictures? Too busy talking and having fun, I guess. 😊
There were less than half this many people in attendance this evening.
And every-other table was blocked off due to Covid restrictions.
David had Boudin (Seasoned pork sausage with onions, rice and herbs. Served with spicy Creole mustard.) and fried green tomatoes, Blaine chose Cajun Seafood Medley (Fish, shrimp, crawfish, and crab baked with parmesan cheese. Served in a casserole dish.) and jambalaya, and I had Catfish Pontchartrain (Catfish with shrimp and crab stuffing, topped with Crawfish Louie sauce.) and fried green tomatoes. Each and every meal was most excellent! (I tried to find pictures of our food, and a recipe for my dinner on-line, but was unsuccessful. ☹)
And then there was dessert! We splurged and each ordered their Priestly’s Pecan Pie with vanilla ice cream. My, Oh, My!! It was fantastique! And apparently the waitress liked David best, because his piece was pretty close to twice the size mine was. 😊 That’s okay. Mine was plenty big enough!
After dinner, we returned to David’s and hung out for a spell.
