Grayton Beach State Park, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God.  ~ Genesis 6:9

It poured the rain all morning, windy too.

But then, after lunch, the sun came out, however the constant 15-20mph winds continued.  And then, around 2:30pm, we decided to brave the wind and drove over to the beach.  It wasn’t too bad when we started out – the waves were crashing once again, the sun was out (most of the time), and the wind?  It was to our backs.  😊

We walked east today (opposite of the river), towards the more affluent side of the beach – towards WaterColor and Seaside.  So enamored by nature were we, that we ended up about 1 ½ – 2 miles up the beach.

We were surprised they weren’t displaying the second “No swimming” flag.
Looking a bit wind-blown. : )
There was a group of small seagulls hovering in this area, close to the water.
Some were even walking on top of it, which was fun to see!
They weren’t diving, and we never saw them pick anything out of the water.
Don’t know what they were doing, but we had fun watching for a bit.
We took a street-side picture of this one when we did our 20 mile bike ride the other day.
There are signs everywhere that say, “Stay off the dunes”,
so we were wondering about this . . . . .

And then we turned around.

Right into the full force of the wind.  We laughed, but it was somewhat tough going.

This plane came right down the beach and over our heads! He was much closer than this picture looks.
I’m surprised I caught him because he had a tail wind and was moving pretty fast.
Looks like there’s an outfit that sets these up.
Not a good day for a bonfire, with all the wind.
Hopefully they’ll have fun.

After a bit, my ears were getting irritated, so I put my hood up and tied it off.  It helped some, but not completely.  We also had increasingly difficulty seeing.  There wasn’t a lot of sand blowing, but the sea breeze coated our glasses with residue.  It was funny – when we got home, we immediately cleaned them with soap and water and it was like the first time we put glasses on….We could see again!!

Look what we found lying on the beach! It’s huge!!
Pelicans!
They were moving fast too. : )
This was taken off the beach near the parking lot.
Blaine really shouldn’t leave me alone with nothing to do . . . lol
Makes things really hazy!
For once, our pictures look better than what we were able to see! : )

For a couple of hours, we had a blast!
