After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” ~ Genesis 15:1 The phrase “Don’t be afraid” is the most common command in all of scripture. It occurs no less than 365 times in one form or another (like “Fear not”) and is almost always followed by “I” (God). God also reminds Abram that He is his Protector and VERY Great Reward. Much better than anything he could acquire from Pharaoh nor from the spoils of war.
This is our third visit to Highlands Hammock. The campground offers tight quarters, but the Park itself is one of our favorite places to visit. It’s just kinda magical here with the live oaks, Spanish moss, palms, pines, orange trees (loaded with very sour fruit!) . . . and of course there are flowers and critters of various types. The Father is sooo diverse in the joys He gives us!
And Vincent’s Pizza is just up the road! We’ve eaten at many pizza places on the road, and Vincent’s is our #1. I can’t really say why, it just is. The thin crust . . . the sauce . . . the ingredients . . . the gooey cheese . . . the friendly staff . . . the free dessert (yes, I said FREE!) . . . I couldn’t talk Blaine into pizza twice in four days, so we have to wait until Thursday. That’s two–whole–days away! ☹
Our day began with driving into town to the laundromat. Four large loads (and about four times poorer than if we’d done it at the Park) and just under three hours later, we were back home where we hurriedly put laundry away and grabbed a bite to eat.
There was biking and hiking to do!
Since it’s our third time here, we knew exactly where we wanted to go without consulting a map. We also took much fewer pictures this time. 😊
We returned about three hours later. Excellent day! Thank You, Lord!
