The Bluebird’s Not So Happy 04/15/21

Mistletoe State Park, Appling, Georgia

Early the next morning Abraham took some food and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar.  He set them on her shoulders and then sent her off with the boy.  She went on her way and wandered in the desert of Beersheba. ~ Genesis 21:14       I don’t know what to say.  Can you just imagine how Hagar and Ishmael felt?  And what about Abraham?  He’s learned a great deal about trusting God over the past few years, because it seemed like he genuinely loved this son!  I wonder if this was some kind of ‘pre-test’ to get Abraham ready for the bigger one coming up – the call to sacrifice Isaac?

It was cute to watch the bluebird yesterday, but now?  After 24 hours of constant battering?  It’s getting really annoying.  Plus, it keeps pooping on Blaine’s clean windshield and the mirror.  How a little bird that does nothing but fly around and peck at our stuff can rid itself of so much waste, is a mystery.

Blaine grabbed a towel and covered the mirror, but it still wanted to hang out. However, covering the mirror seemed to have really upset him, because he immediately began singing a sorrowful song.  Yes.  You could tell it was sad.  I don’t know how, but we could. ☹

Even with the mirror covered, the silly bird found an opening.
When it would sit there, it looked like it was inside!

Then we saw a female pop out of the tiny tree beside the coach!  Turns out she wasn’t happy with the housing, because she flew off and we never saw her again.

See the hole? That’s the one.

Couples drama!  Even in the bird world!

Around lunchtime, Blaine put out some bread scraps.  The bluebird wasn’t interested and actually pushed it off the top of the mirror with his feet.  😊

But a friendly squirrel nibbled on a piece.  However, the real show were the two crows that showed up!  They shoved a big pile into their mouths and flew off.  It was pretty comical to watch.

Oh!  And one of the squirrels decided he could unlatch our screen door.  Fortunately, he didn’t know how to open the door once it was unlatched.  Whew!

As you can see, we didn’t do anything today.

That’s us.
Very large mushrooms growing in our “yard”.
Dinner outside tonight!

Not exactly true.  We did take a lengthy walk around all the campground loops. There was evidently a prescribed burn going on somewhere nearby. There was a lot of smoke this evening.

There are quite a few lakeside sites here. Beautiful campground!
And a nice sunset to end the day!
