The entirety of Genesis 36, is about the linage of Esau.  The account of Esau (that is, Edom).  Esau took his wives from the women of Canaan… daughter of…(a) Hittite…granddaughter of…(a) Hivite… (and a) daughter of Ishmael.  Esau took his wives and sons and daughters and all the members of his household, as well as his livestock and all his other animals and all the goods he had acquired in Canaan, and moved to a land some distance from his brother Jacob.  Their possessions were too great for them to remain together; the land where they were staying could not support them both because of their livestock.  So Esau (that is Edom) settled in the hill country of Seir.  This is the account of Esau the father of the Edomites in the hill country of Seir… This was Esau the father of the Edomites. ~ Genesis 36:1-43     We are told that Esau had a total of five sons by these three women he married.  From Esau’s descendants would come enemies of Israel.  But God chose to protect them because Esau was Isaac’s son and Abraham’s grandson. When Moses (leading the nation of Israel/descendants of Jacob) requested passage through Edom on his way to the Promised Land, Edom rebuffed them, and God told Moses not to fight with them, so Moses led his people around Edom.  God’s reasoning was given in various places in the Old Testament “they are your brothers”.  But the Edomites didn’t see it that way and caused Israel grief every chance they got.  Eventually, and according to prophecy, the Edomites as a people faded from history, except for the list shared in Genesis.

Today was a bit more interesting.  😊

Here’s a bit of information shared by our campground.

We went for a nice bike ride, and as you’ll soon see, the weather permitted shorts!

We’ve done this trail in the past – or at least part of it, but there were some new things to check out!  Like a playground/park area and a neighborhood ravaged by a tornado back in January.  Some of the houses are fully restored, but some still have a long way to go, and at this point, we found ourselves wondering if it’s due to lack of insurance, or lack of help.  There was a crew working on one of the houses.

Off we go!
Lunch time!
Did you notice that the bike rack was made from bicycle frames?
End of the line!
Time to turn around.
Gotta love life!
So, you probably think this is a picture of the Park’s tree.
It’s not.
It’s actually a picture of that driveway over there!
Insanely steep!
The first evidence of the tornado.
There were a lot of downed trees in this area.
Many to the left of this picture had been cut down and hauled away.
A little blurb I found about it.
We were shocked by the price on this place! They say 3 Bed/2 Bath, but they can’t possibly be very big!
For a few dollars more, you could have this one!

After we went back home, we worked on another Christmas gift, which ended up being totally frustrating and waaaay off – – and it’s Martha Stewart!  So that project was a bust.  At least for now.

That is supposed to be the size of my foot . . . .

And one more bit of interesting information –

There was this story on the news tonight.  I’m sure you’ve heard about the FedEx packages being found in the woods?  Well, in Chattanooga, there’s a house that’s had hundreds of packages delivered and set on their lawn!  Something about the owner knowing someone in China who has things delivered and then comes to town periodically and goes through them and sends some back to Amazon?  In the meantime, they sit there no matter the weather.  It’s crazy whatever the real story is!  The neighbors are mixed in their assessment – one wants to sell their house and doesn’t like it, another basically says, “Live and let live”.

Can you believe that?!?!?!?

We’ve decided.  No way would we want that next door!  Unfortunately, apparently, there’s no law against it.
