So Israel’s sons were among those who went to buy grain, for the famine was in the land of Canaan also. Now Joseph was the governor of the land, the one who sold grain to all its people. So when Joseph’s brothers arrived, they bowed down to him with their faces to the ground. ~ Genesis 42:5-6 The first part of the prophecy from Chapter 37 fulfilled! Remember the first dream Joseph had? The one where the sheaves of grain bowed down to a sheaf that was standing? Remember Joseph told his brothers that he was the one standing and they were bowing to him? Did you catch the fact that they were sheaves of grain? The very thing they came to Egypt for? The very thing Joseph had been collecting for years? Once again, we look at God’s timing. It’s been twenty years since Joseph had that dream. How long are you willing to wait on God? Me? I struggle with waiting a week!
This morning was the first time we were unable to watch the sun rise up into a clear and cloudless day over the lake. It was cloudy and the wind was blowing fiercely, with the promise by the weatherman of even more. And Blaine had a five-hour, 246-mile drive ahead of him today. But praise God! The winds will be pushing us, rather than blowing against us! Saves on fuel too! We ended up with 9.5mpg today! Yippee!
We still expected some difficult moments though.
Our neighbors of only one night rose very early and left. We weren’t surprised since they’d decided to sleep in hammocks last night. I can’t imagine that they got any sleep at all with the winds in the upper teens to low twenties all night long. I know we didn’t sleep our best, and we were in a stable bed! 😊
Before we left-left, we had to stop at the dump station to empty our tanks because there was no sewer hook up at our site. Usually this is just one of those necessary evils, but to brighten our odorous task, we spotted two blooming Texas Bluebonnets! What a blissful joy it must be to see an entire field of them! If you recall, it’s also the State Flower. We had given up any hope of seeing them though, because they don’t begin blooming until late March/early April, and we’d not run across any anywhere. Until today. Thank You, Father! Stunning creation! Everything really is better with Blue Bonnet on it! 😊 (old commercial, remember?)
The trip today took us through Dallas, so we knew going in it wouldn’t be a walk in the park. There was heavy traffic, tight lanes, occasions to lay on the horn and aggressively apply the brakes several times during the 1 ½ hours it took us to get through town. And of course, there was the ever-present construction, which caused numerous people to believe that weaving through slow-moving traffic would get them farther faster. It didn’t.
We were happy to arrive in Norman, Oklahoma.

The winds aren’t any lighter here. In fact, since we opened up all our windows to bring in fresh air, we didn’t realize that all the dust and dirt surrounding us was coming in, until after dinner, when I opened my laptop and slid it across the table, creating an unusual scraping sound.
That would be the sound of metal rubbing against dirt. Good grief!
I had to dust and sweep the kitchen and living area again – after we closed the windows.
The weatherman is calling for possible severe weather tonight.
