Rain & Comfort Food

Today it rained all day.  We knew that several days ahead of time.  Rainy days are good once in a while, though not too good for the waistline!

Since the internet isn’t great at our campground, we planned on going to the town library (walking distance if it’s not raining) to work on some Fall reservations.  We’re announcing our ‘homecoming’ (in Ohio) for October 9th – 29th, but we need to get south after that.  Being as how the snowbirds do the same thing, we knew we’d need to get our ducks in a row ASAP!

So we get to the library – and it’s closed. Until 2pm.  On Tuesdays (the day we need it), it’s open from 2-5pm and 6:30-8pm.  They have other unusual hours, but we were only interested in today’s.  So back to the coach we went and waited for 2pm.  We spent 3 hours in that library!  It takes a really long time to research and reserve campgrounds!  Much longer than you’d think!

After dinner, we went back to the library to sit outside and use the wifi for FaceTime with Blaine’s family and one of our sons in Ohio.  His sister and her husband were visiting so Mom and Dad had everyone over.  How nice to chat briefly with everyone!  But we sure missed being there with them!  ☹

So, comfort food today?  Blaine’s pecan waffles, a buttered English muffin and Chai tea and broasted chicken and taters (aka jojos), and the last of the French Silk cake.  The chicken came from the grocery store and was quite good!  The Chai is a mix I made to try to imitate the Chai they serve at The Chapel.  I knew I’d miss it after enjoying it almost every Sunday, so I made a substitute before we left.  It’s not bad, but not quite as good!  I’ll be getting the real thing come October!

Sorry.  No pictures this time.  : )
