They were glad when it grew calm, and He guided them to their desired haven. Psalm 107:30
What a day!
By end of day, and after ten years of intermittent work, I was able to complete my super-secret project. Hip-hip-hooray! But it’s still necessary to keep it under wraps for about another month. And whilst I worked on that, Blaine went out for some fresh air, choosing the beach. Well, when you’re camped right on the beach, where else would you go? He saw more dolphins, pelicans and watched a hawk dive and capture a fish right out of the ocean and close to where he was standing! And the Coast Guard flew over!
He texted me while he was out saying, “If you ever wanted to kayak the Atlantic Ocean, today’s your day!” To which I replied, “Let’s do it!”
So we did!
Our new kayak performed perfectly! It skimmed over the water with ease and handled a few small swells also. We had a wonderful few hours out there! We’d fantasized about dolphins coming up alongside us, but alas, as usual our critter repellent was working perfectly.
Instead, we watched the pelicans fishing and flying by fairly close to us, and spotted a hawk on a dead tree who took off with a fish in his talons. Very cool! But no picture. ☹
After we cleaned all the salt water off us (not that there was much), and once we made sure the sunset was over, we returned to the Sea Cow. Returned as in, we ate there last year. Tripadvisor is a wonderful thing! It was just as scrumptious as we remembered!
