The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit. ~ John 3:8
There was laundry, cleaning (minimal) and menus to plan. There were blog posts to catch up on. There was banking to do. And my roots needed done. And even though the thunderstorm in the wee hours of the morning woke us up waaay before the crack of dawn today, it still took us most of the day to cover our agenda for the day.
It sure was nice outside . . .
Blaine got his chores done before me, plus I needed a short nap, so he went out for a bit.
I didn’t get out until about 2:30pm, when we took a drive over to the Marshall Swamp area. The trail was supposed to be loaded with nature. I suppose it depends what kind of nature you’re looking for. There were lots of trees of various kinds, swamp water and sand. There was no wildlife, with the exception of a hawk that was screaming and soaring almost faster than we could watch.
It was really windy today! So there was that, too. The rustling of the leaves and palm fronds, and trees scraping against each other.
It was pretty cool, and had me wishing I could still climb trees and sit in the top, swaying in the breeze. I loved doing that when I was young!
In fact, that’s probably what I was doing one day when I was five and fell, knocking the wind out of me. One of the kids I was with ran to my house and told my mom I was dead. She was relieved I was not. But it didn’t stop me from climbing trees every chance I got. 😊
