The Explosion 03/09/19

Markham County Park, Sunrise, Florida

When I say to a wicked man, ‘You will surely die’, and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.’ ~  Ezekiel 3:18    YIKES!!

Remember Hoppy?  He’s still around.  We feed him scraps of bread once in a while.  And we’ve been wondering if he ever sings, because while we’ve seen and heard others of his kind, we’ve not seen him singing.  This morning, I have a humorous Blaine-ism to share.

He was outside for a few minutes, came in and said, “Did you hear him?”  “Who?”  “Hoppy.”  “You saw him singing?”  “Yes.  He was singing, ‘I sing because I’m Hoppy . . . .’”

(You know.  ‘His Eye Is On the Sparrow’?… 😊)

He still makes me laugh out loud!  Even after all these years!  😊

Still not sure if he actually saw Hoppy singing or not . . . .

But Hoppy may have flown the coop today, so to speak.  Along with every other creature within a mile of us.

We’ve been dealing with a slow leak in one of my bike tires.  Each day, before we ride, Blaine has to blow it up.  Today, it called it quits and exploded before he got it even halfway full of air.  What a noise!!  One of our neighbors happened to be walking by when it happened and it scared the bageebers outta her!  She immediately thought of being shot at, probably because of the shooting we can hear from the target range.  But Blaine confirmed it was him, so she was safe.  😊

No tire means no riding.  Unless Blaine rides and I run alongside.  Or, I could ride his bike and he could run . . .  I like that idea better.  😊

But realistically, neither of those scenarios were happening, so instead of riding all over the Park, we walked.  Most of the things we’ve already shared pictures of, so there aren’t many today.  Surprisingly, there were no iguana sightings!  They must know to hide on the weekends.  😊

If you look closely, there’s a bump in the water sort of between the lily pads.
That’s an alligator. First one we’ve seen here in Markham.
The only other wildlife we saw was this friendly squirrel.
Can you believe the Park allows them to park their motorhome in the grass like that? They were actually having a picnic on the other side beside the water.

For dinner, we visited a local chain restaurant – Flannigans.  Both our meals were excellent!

1/2 slab smoked BBQ ribs, 6 BBQ wings, fries and cole slaw. Blaine’s was yummy!
Shrimp and veggie pasta, cole slaw and garlic rolls. It too was yummy! Their cole slaw is complementary – – – if you ask for it. If you want a tossed salad, it’s $2.99 extra.

And then we walked some more – – around the outside of the mall area where the restaurant was and discovered something new and sort of exciting!

This was fun to watch! All these vultures were raiding the dumpster! One of them was able to claim a piece of meat and was running/flying/stumbling around trying to keep it to himself, while the others tried to steal it. It was crazy! He managed to keep it to himself. : )

And there was a bit more excitement once we returned to the campground.

A firetruck and two police cars by the canal. We’re wondering if someone had a boat accident. No ambulance though. At least not yet.
