U Tiki 03/16/19

Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Hobe Sound, Florida (Jupiter)

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves.  Do what it says. ~ James 1:22

We have to cross these tracks to get to Eric and Sandy’s. This time, there was a train. If we continued straight, there’s the drawbridge. Can you just imagine when the drawbridge goes up the same time a train comes through???

It’s Saturday and even though it was cooler and very overcast, Eric put their boat in the water and we took off.  It was fun!  And since it wasn’t optimum weather, the crowds were down.

Waiting for the boat. It’s quite a chore. The boat gets towed to a dock to put in, then the tow vehicle drives back and the boat gets piloted to the house.
Adam drove his Jeep, Blaine and Eric came with the boat.
I think Eliana dropped something. She does that a lot. Usually on purpose. : )
Look at the teeny pineapple Sandy’s growing!
Preparing to cast off.
Heading up the channel towards the open water of the intracoastal/Jupiter Inlet.
Is she adorable, or what?!?
Initially, I thought we’d have to go under that low bridge, but there’s an opening on the left. Whew!
Jupiter Lighthouse
Walking on water?
They have sand bars here.
At low tide, people can dock alongside, get out and play in the water. : )
This property belongs to Tiger Woods. There were lots of security cameras around, and if you Google Map it, you can see the three-hole golf course he has here. Can’t even get a glimpse of the house though. : ( Celine Dion has a home with a water park somewhere around here, too.
Tiger’s place.
Sandy and Eric say there’s usually a very large boat/yacht parked here.

Here’s a sample of our ride. Although, once we hit a large wake and Sandy and I got pretty wet. Blaine happened to be up front at the time and he took the hit for us. He got very wet!

They took us snorkeling along the pilings for a bridge, but no one took pictures.  We’re really slacking in the picture department since we arrived in Jupiter!

Adam, Eliana, Sandy

Blaine & I snorkeled, Adam swam like he was the archetype for Aquaman – no snorkel and a long time and deep under the water!  It was so wonderful to see all those beautiful tropical fish!  The water moves with the tide here, so we had to be mindful of the current, but as long as we stayed near the pilings, we were okay.  Getting to shore required a bit of strong swimming to stay where you wanted to go, but it was fine.

Once we’d had enough, we sped over to a restaurant called U Tiki.  They have a place to dock your boat and all outdoor seating.

This is where we docked for lunch. These guys were cleaning their fish and throwing scraps to the pelicans. Lazy birds!

Very nice, very good food!  Especially the appetizers we ordered and shared!  Some kind of shrimp flatbread and fish dip.  You eat the dip on Club crackers with a slice of jalapeno.  I didn’t think I’d like the jalapeno, but Eric insisted we try it and it really was excellent!

Waiting for lunch.
Lunch! Eliana, Terri, Blaine, Eric, Sandy, Adam, Jessica
So far, Sandy and I have dressed alike every day!

During all this, we got a picture and text from our daughter-in-law, Shena.  The lemon tree we bought them for a wedding gift this past October is blooming!  I’m sooooo excited!  She said it doesn’t smell yet, but it’s supposed to at some point!  And after the blooms . . . . lemons!

Sooo exciting!!!!
Heading home

Back at the Gamble’s, we sat outside under their tiki hut and chattered away.

Keep the fire burning, it’s kinda cool out here!

Until we wore out Eric and Adam.  😊

One minute, they’re animated and chatty . . .
. . . . the next, they’re gone. : )

Another great and glorious day, blessed by the Father!
