We are not trying to please men, but God, who tests our hearts. ~ I Thessalonians 2:4b

It was cool and pouring down the rain this morning, and rained off and on all day.  Sandy and I went clothes shopping and left Blaine on his own all day, while Eric went to work.

We began at Kohl’s, where I received frequent raised eyebrows and more than a few comments from my stylish sister-in-law over some of the things I pulled off the rack.  So I put them back.  But she helped me choose some wonderful new threads to replace my old worn out ones; as many of my tops have patched holes and I’ve grown weary of constantly tugging up my pants and shorts that are at least a size too large.  I was not able to find my size in some of the shorts I need, but at least now I know what I should be looking for.  😊

Short story for edification – – I found a pair of olive-green shorts that I wanted, but they have attached ties on the front.  I mentioned cutting them off because they hung down and served no purpose.  Big mistake!  “That’s style, Terri.  Don’t you dare cut those off.”  I need to take her with me more often . . .

Around 1:30pm, we started feeling hungry, so Sandy drove us to the Thai Lotus Restaurant, where we ordered pad thai with shrimp.

We were presented with chicken.

So we had to report the error and wait as they made up another batch.  But we had eaten the soup and spring roll they had served as an appetizer, and the company was par excellence, so we really didn’t mind waiting.

I also needed some kind of a barrette our something to put my hair up when I want to look a little nicer than a ponytail, so we stopped in at a store called Face Values.  It’s basically a drug store without the pharmacy.  I found what I was looking for – with Sandy’s help of course – and while we were in there, she received a phone call from her daughter-in-law, Jessica.

They got the house they wanted!!  Sandy and I were both cheering and jumping up and down and people were staring, but I guess because we were smiling it was okay because no one said anything.  Who would approach two crazy old ladies without police presence, anyway?

We went into Bealls (pronounced ‘bells’) where Sandy found these really cute fish earrings and I found nothing.  And we visited one or two other stores looking for ‘boat shoes’ for me, but again, found nothing.  And again, at least I know what to look for now, thanks to my fashionista sister-in-law.

She dropped me off back home where Blaine regaled me with tales of his efforts to find us lodging, heated up some lasagna for dinner (no I didn’t eat any), and had me massage his neck and shoulders which were sore from sitting at the table all day long.  Poor thing couldn’t even get outside to walk around with the weather the way it was.

The jeans double as capris if I roll them up. : )

We’ll see what tomorrow brings.  It’s supposed to be wet again.
