Fools mock at making amends for sin, but goodwill is found among the upright. ~ Proverbs 14:9
5 ½ hours, 299 miles and two free cucumbers later, we arrived at our next destination!
Oh. Wait. I suppose I should say at least a little more, huh? What can I say. My mind and body are tired from all the history posts! And I’m frustrated because I’m soooo far behind!
So. The free cukes. I suppose you’re curious about that.
We made a quick stop at a rest area and as we were heading back to the coach, Blaine noticed a basket full of homegrown cucumbers someone left with a “Free” sign! I would’ve only taken one, you know, to let someone else have one, but Blaine snatched two and ran off with them before I could stop him. Someone probably went hungry tonight.
Also along our drive, we went over the highest point on I-90 east of South Dakota. The sign came and went so fast, I not only didn’t get a picture, I don’t even remember how high we were.
And then there was the military convoy we seemed to be in the midst of. In fact, we followed some through one of the toll booths (wonder if they had to pay??) and as we were leaving the toll booth, the guy in the booth said to someone, “That must be the general!” 😊 I’m sure he was just kidding around, but still pretty funny.
Chenango Valley State Park, Chenango Forks, New York
So here we are in New York.
Blaine took off after dinner for a bike ride around the Park, but I stayed behind to work, since I couldn’t get anything done during our long drive today due to rough road conditions. Have you ever tried to type on a laptop while it’s bouncing around on a table?
