On Christmas Eve morning, we were able to attend our church home then celebrated with Blaine’s side of the family. Church was, as always, an amazing worship and learning time! The very best part though, (and it’s really hard to beat Pastor Mike) was seeing Shena’s face when it started snowing on us during one of the songs – inside the sanctuary – while we sat in our seats! Complete awe and wonder! We’d experienced the ‘snow’ before, but she hadn’t and it was wonderful to witness!
After church, was a day of managed chaos! But the kiddos add sooooo much to the celebration! Again with the eating. Again with the gift giving. Again with the clean up. So it goes with many Holiday celebrations!
After the clean-up, it was time to play Left, Right Center with pennies. Are you familiar with that game? Simple game where each player contributes 4 (pennies, quarters, whatever) and you roll special dice (you can buy these in many stores). The roll dictates what you do with your money. Pass to the left, to the right, to the center or keep. The play continues until only one person remains with money. They win the pot. Fun game!! And absolutely no strategy involved! Tonight’s winner was Blaine’s brother, Brian. Congrats, Brian!!
IT SNOWED for Christmas Day!!!!
Not much, but enough to cover the ground! I was thrilled. So thrilled that I dragged Blaine out to face the frosty temperatures and wind for a short walk in it!
About 10am, we went back to my Mom’s so Blaine could make his special pancakes for her. My brother and his family were supposed to be there and we thought we’d be spending the day playing games. Turned out they had to leave and only my brother and nephew showed up for breakfast – which was at noon. They left immediately after. We visited with my Mom for a while, then went back to our home-base and I worked on this thing. Boy. That sounds really bad, doesn’t it? I’m just tired. While lots of socializing energizes some people, Blaine and I get drained. That’s probably one of the reasons we like being on the road.
Good thing we both feel that way!! 😊
Weird Christmas this year! But we are beyond blessed as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Born just for us! Born to save the entire world! Born for all to have the opportunity to receive Him! Born for all to have the opportunity to spend eternity with Him! Born to bring joy! Born to bring love! Born to bring Truth!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS!!!!
