Henderson Beach State Park, Destin, Florida
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!! Blaine’s dad is 83 today. I only mention his age because you’d never guess he’s that old. He certainly doesn’t seem that old to us! Ron is a wonderful Christian, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and neighbor. So caring and loving and also fun to be around! He’s always been willing to be a father figure to me to replace the father I never had. I appreciate that, and love him for it.
Before I begin, I managed to sneak a picture of the new bike next door. We don’t know what kind it is, but it was really loud!
We moved today, narrowly avoiding a rain storm. Not much of interest during the drive today, but we did see thousands of large ant hills along the road! Blaine was tempted to pull over and poke at them . . .
As we approached our final destination, Destin, Florida, there was a marked increase in traffic, and the clouds were getting heavier and heavier.
We managed to get set up just as the rain began. The weather today reminded me of our trip into Daytona, but I was brave and didn’t shed a tear although I came close when, for a moment, I didn’t think we were going to get to walk to the beach. (as a side note, Blaine said I need to elaborate on the Daytona incident. I said I just put it in the blog the other day, but when I looked back, it was on the 9th. Anyway, you can go back there for details if you want.😊)
Even in the rain, the water was beautiful! Tomorrow should have sun and we’ll definitely be checking it out!
We had a couple of errands to run and stopped at Wendy’s for dinner. Oh, my! How’ve I’ve missed her! It was scrumptious!
