Sorry to let you down, but this isn’t really special – just something I wanted to put in. I try to post every couple of days, but when I don’t, it’s because we don’t have internet service. We’ve been really surprised how often that happens! We have our phones we can use for a hot spot, and we also have a jet pack which was purchased specifically for this purpose, but when there’s no service available or when it vacillates in and out . . . .
My last postings took me 4 hours because it had been 6 days. Here’s why it takes so long.
Anatomy of a Blog Post
- Go do something, eat something, see something, or think something
- Take pictures when possible
- Download the pictures into the laptop
- Sort through them, identifying the ones you want to use (believe it or not, there are a lot I don’t put in 😊)
- Edit the pictures as needed (sometimes they need brightened a bit, or cropped, etc.)
- Type what I want to say in Word
- Have Blaine proofread for any errors or additions
- Open the blog site and upload the pictures. Sometimes this takes a REALLY LONG time depending on the internet service. Other times, it’s quick as a wink
- Make further adjustments to the pictures (sometimes they end up sideways and I have to turn them)
- Copy and paste the typed text
- Find and insert the pictures, adding captions if desired
- Proofread
- Publish
All this, just for you!! Now, don’t you feel special??
