Happy Anniversary! 07/02/20

Portal RV Resort, Moab, Utah

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.  So they are no longer two, but one flesh.  Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.  ~ Mark 10-7-9

Happy 65th Anniversary Celebration With Golden Confetti And ...

Today was Blaine’s mom & dad’s 65th wedding anniversary!  What an amazing feat that is and very much worth mentioning!  And what a goal to set for all of us!  The Lord has surely blessed their union.  Four children (and their spouses), nine grandchildren (and some spouses), twelve great-grandchildren . . . and counting!  We’re sorry to be away, but Blaine’s brother, Brian and his family went over to join them in a small celebration.  Since COVID is such an unwelcome guest, any further celebrations will have to wait.

65 years of wedded bliss!
Blaine’s mom made the dress for her bride doll.

It also marks the day we bid a fond farewell to Utah and moved ever closer to the Rocky Mountains.  We’re both very excited about that because neither of us have seen them yet!

Traveling today covered a lot of wide open space, and not much else.  It was mostly on I-70, and mostly two-lane road, with frequent passing lanes, and I want you to know how courteous a driver my husband is . . . he not only moves over to the designated ‘slower traffic’ lane, but he slows down to give the cars behind us plenty of time to pass.  So thoughtful!

One last time passing Arches National Park.
We’d never heard Colorado called that before.
Pretty!
That’s where our campground is.
Entering the town of Fruita.

We noticed one other thing on I-70 today.  For whatever reason, there are a lot of dips in the road.  Lots of fun for me, as a passenger (felt like a very tame amusement park ride 😊), but not so much for Blaine.  And not so much for the stuff inside the cupboards either.

We’re here!

Our new digs are quite nice!  Mountains all around, and a small lake just through the tall grass.  We can’t see it if we sit at the covered picnic table, but we can from our dining room table.  Puts us up higher.  😊  Most likely, we’ll not spend much time at that table.  Temperatures are supposed to run in the upper-nineties to 100⁰ or more while we’re here. Ugh!!! Sweat . . . Swelter . . .
