With a deadline of March 21st looming ever near, we had to get really serious about this – while still working and meeting other obligations. We began even more sorting and organizing. We eventually discovered that in order to do that, we needed to box things up anyway, so the initial thought of just ‘walking away’ and leaving everything was truly a fantasy. We sold a few pieces of furniture. The boys gave us their ‘wish list’. So did other family members. Then, just before moving day, family (including my mother) wanted to come ‘basement diving’ and went thru all the things we’d decided to part with – and it was a LOT. I knew my mom wouldn’t be happy with some of it, but it just became unreasonable to keep all the sentimental stuff we’d accumulated, along with all the other stuff. And since we plan on doing this for quite a few years, there was no since trying to store much. Better to let others get enjoyment out of it.
There was still a lot left . . . . . . .
