Peggy’s Cove

We’ve left Cape Breton Island and are now staying at Wayside Campground just down the street from Peggy’s Cove.  The Peggy’s Cove lighthouse is the most famous and most photographed lighthouse in Nova Scotia and maybe all of Canada.  Which is why it’s surprising that we could find a decent campground with full hook-ups just down the street for $22/night!

It’s not the most scenic place, but it’s quiet and dark at night.  😊

Since it was so close, once we got set up we headed over to see Peggy’s Cove about 5:30pm.  The closer we got, the more foggy it got.  It was beautiful!  And surreal.  And kinda creepy looking at times  (ever seen the movie ‘The Fog’?). The other strange thing is, the fog rolled in and out, which is why some pictures are more clear than others.

But we LOVED the pictures we took!  You decide which one(s) are your favorite(s)!

Also, Peggy’s Cove isn’t quite what we were expecting.  We thought it was just a lighthouse, but there’s an entire ‘preservation area’.  And a town.  Lovely!

That’s it for today, except we missed an unbelievably stunning sunset!  ☹  The entire sky looked like it was on fire.  By the time we noticed it out our window and thru the trees (we were both facing away from it), it was too late to get to it.  We’re hoping for another tonight!
