Waterfall!     12/11/17

Yes, hard to believe we saw a waterfall in Lowcountry South Carolina, but it’s true!

Of course, it was inside the coach . . .

Yep.  I said inside the coach.  Our home.

And this wasn’t the first time we’ve had a waterfall in our home.

Years ago, in 1989 I believe, we were privileged to witness our first.  Blaine missed out on that one as it happened while he was at work, but the boys and I saw it.  And Kyle’s the one who orchestrated it by turning on the bathroom sink upstairs and then stopping the drain.  That waterfall went all the way from the second-floor bathroom, through the kitchen and into the basement.

I know, I know.  Get back on track.

Today Blaine had planned on taking the RV on the road to refuel and also fill our propane tank and run the generator for a while.  So we packed up lightly (meaning we didn’t lock up everything like we usually do) and headed down the road a spell.

We didn’t get far, in fact we didn’t even finishing making the turn at the end of our road, when this horrendous splash occurred and water was pouring down behind Blaine’s seat!  I ran to grab towels as Blaine brought us to a stop.  I had one towel for him to start with, but the rest were in the bathroom and hard to get to because the slides were in and the bed’s in the way.  I managed though.

By the time we were finished, we had soaked 6 large (bigger than bath) towels!

What happened?!?

We believe those three days of rain got under our awning and was actually laying on top of the slide when we pulled it in.  Then the first time the coach tilted the right way, all that water came gushing over the side in a glorious waterfall!

Thankfully, the rest of our short trip was uneventful.

Homemade beef stew and Cheddar Bay biscuits for dinner.  YUM!
