Today was spent getting unpacked, menu planning, laundry, and grocery shopping. Oh, and Blaine took to Jeep for a good cleaning! By the time we got home, it looked like we’d been mud-running or something! Wish I’d thought to take before-and-after pictures! We also had a few ladybugs to clean up. I don’t know if you remember me posting about the infestation a month or so ago, but every time it warms up some, they come out. From where, we have no idea! No biggy tho. They don’t hurt anything.
The big event today happened at the grocery store. We were already tired. After finishing laundry (yes, the same place I lost my phone), we went to the local grocery store (which happens to be a good-sized chain down here) and picked up groceries that probably totaled about $100.
We got to the check out and asked the cashier for a courtesy card (something we’ve done at every grocery we’ve stopped at in the US and Canada – including other BiLos). She asked the manager who promptly told us no. We were incredulous! Seriously? That means we have to pay full price for all the sale items ? Yes. But you can sign up for a card. We’re from Ohio! Sorry.
We told them to forget it and walked away. Leaving our cart at the checkout.
So we went home and foraged for food. We ended up with a make-shift salad and a shrimp stir fry. Pretty good for not having groceries, donchathink?
Tomorrow we move 2 hours south and there’s a Publix a few minutes from us. We won’t starve after all! : )
