The day the Resolutions begin. I gave those up a very long time ago. Like most people, I always had good intentions, but unless you’re truly ready to make a life-change, they don’t work. And if you’re truly ready, you won’t wait until January 1st to begin. My only resolution (if you can call it that) is to begin recording how many miles we walk/hike/trek/wander/ramble/journey/stroll/meander/mosey/saunter/roam, etc. for the next year.
This was probably the least eventful New Year’s Day we’ve ever spent. For many years, my family would get together on this day for pork and sauerkraut and ‘game day’. We had sooo much fun!
Not this year.
This year, we stayed in all day except when Blaine ran to the store for something we forgot the other day.
We did have the pork and kraut and we watched the Rose Bowl Parade on HGTV.
We talked about where we would like to go starting in June, after our month in Ohio (May 7th – June 6th?).
We shared ‘Happy New Year’ texts with people and called our parents.
I worked on the blog. Blaine watched college football.
That’s it.
No miles today. Not a good way to start. See why resolutions just don’t work?
It’s supposed to go down to 22 degrees tonight. Blaine’s a bit concerned about our water lines freezing. He turned off the water and drained the lines. Hopefully all will be well.
Tomorrow we move to Jekyll Island, where the forecast promises to be cold rain (Yippee! My favorite!), but at least it’ll be about 10 degrees warmer than here. Can’t wait!! 😊
