Whatever Happened to Keno? 2/01/18

O’Leno State Park, High Springs, Florida

Our final “good-bye” to Henderson.  Quite a blustery morning on the beach!  I’m certain they’ll be coming around the change the flags soon!  I was waiting for Blaine to bring the coach around so we could hook up the Jeep and I just had to have one last look.

I was waiting at a Park parking lot.

We drove roughly 5 hours from Florida’s panhandle to about the center.  No more beach pictures, although you’re probably tired of seeing all the waves and sunsets/rises.

It was a pretty easy – – until we arrived at the State Park.  And then . . . . well, let’s just say I have no idea how Blaine managed to maneuver this big ol’ bus to our site!  It was so incredibly tight, I took pictures as I followed him in the Jeep. (I only got distracted once and almost ran into the back of the RV.  Shhhhh . . . don’t tell him!)

He’s so good, he backed into our site on the first try!  Once we got parked, it’s a pretty nice, large site.

Once we were settled in, we took a looksy around the area and found a very interesting section!

How sad that progress brought down an entire town.
And how interesting the way this place has evolved over time!

I thought making some of our pictures black and white reflected the times they were built.

Recovered pieces from the grist mill that used to be in the town of Leno.

A picture of the mill.  Surely this was taken after it was no longer in use?

A very rare photograph of me with my hair all pulled back.

And so begins our 10-day adventure here at High Springs!
