Lazy Day     3/04/18

Ortona South C.O.E., Moore Haven, Florida

Rainy days and Mondays always get me down . . . .

Well, it wasn’t raining and it wasn’t Monday, so I don’t know what my problem was.  I felt really out of sorts and just wanted to sleep all day.  I didn’t, but I did take a short mid-morning nap, which really didn’t help any.

For the first Sunday in March, we visited The Chapel.  Yes, there were 3 Baptist churches in the area, we just didn’t go.  All that mosquito killing last night brought us down.  Maybe that’s what’s wrong with me today?

We knew we’d be listening to Mike teach on the book of Revelation.  And we know he has to give us meat once in a while (I Corinthians 3:2), but does it have to be a 5# roast??  I’m ashamed to say, I didn’t even take many notes.

Neither of us did much today.  We went looking for otters,

I liked this – Blaine with my shadow. : )

No otters, but there’s a boat!

Why is no one fishing?
It’s the first time we’ve seen the dock empty.

took a 3 mile bike ride down the road,

The only thing we saw, and that at the end of the road.
Three horses, a Mule and a cow

This horse seemed dead.
They don’t usually lay down.
But then he raised his head just long enough to look at us. : )

A flock of swallows (?) were jetting around us, zipping right past our heads and faces!
I managed to capture one at least! Shear luck!

went looking for otters (again), and hawk-watched.  It’s a red shouldered hawk.  Different than the red tailed ones we see in Ohio.

Blaine drug out our Sony professional camera (as opposed to phones) and took some wonderful hawk pictures!

The nest is right outside our coach!

The pictures with the Sony are infinitely better!  So much more sharp and detailed.  I’ve put in the ones from my phone (the worst) and Blaine’s phone, just for comparison.

We also did some research for things to do at future areas.  Nothing much exciting – except the swallows and the hawk!
