Jennings Ferry Campground, Akron, Alabama
Another beautiful day in Akron, Alabama so we took the kayak out once again this morning. We didn’t see much of anything different from the other times, but it sure was pretty everywhere we looked! And so peaceful and relaxing!
Lunch – like most everyone else today – was leftover ham, in the form of sandwiches.
Time to take a drive into town, to see what another Akron looks like. As you will soon see, it’s nothing like Akron, Ohio. But then we didn’t expect it to be. It was just fun to look around.
But first, Blaine took me down the road where the pit bull lives. It seemed safer since we were in the Jeep. 😊 These homes are on the other side of the river where we kayaked the other day. We saw the river-side. This is the road-side.
Seeing another “Akron” got me wondering where the name came from. After all, This is northern Alabama and the other is northern Ohio. Did you know that there are 15 towns/cities with that name in the United States, one in South Africa and one in Greece? The name is a Greek word meaning “an elevation” or “point”.
So now you can answer another trivia question! 😊
Last but not least, after dinner we walked around the campground and its trail again.
