Hiking In The Suburbs     8/29/18

Loranger Pines RV Park, West Branch, Michigan

And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still.  And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.  Mark 4:39

We had a pretty bad storm last evening, chocked full of more lightning than we’ve ever seen.  The sky around us was bathed with almost constant white light, but no streaks that we could see, and only a few claps of thunder.  I guess there was so much lightning, the thunder couldn’t get a word in edgewise.  We also had some wind (but no where nearly as strong as when we were on PEI in Canada last summer) and heavy rain.

We heard there was a tornado with 100 mph winds that hit just a bit up the road in town, though, so we thank God for His protection!

This showed up across the “street” this morning.
It’s a mobile repair unit for RVs. They’re here for our neighbors. They were supposed to be here last night to fix a roof leak. The neighbors are supposed to check out by noon today. Well, that should be all fine and dandy, but after the guys done fixing it, he tells them they can’t be on the road for 24 hours.
What???
Fortunately, no one had reserved their site for tonight. We felt bad for them, because they were all packed up, hooked up and ready to go.

Once the sun came out, we did some suburban hiking as we visited and shopped and walked all up and down the aisles at Home Depot, WalMart and an outlet mall.  We purchased things at each location.  I know some of you enjoy shopping, but it’s not really our cup of tea – either one of us.

This is the outlet mall – a strip joint. : )

Tomorrow promises to be more our style.  😊
