Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.  I will praise you as long as I live.  ~ Psalm 63:3-4

Good morning, Croft!
Remember us?

This is our side yard view – the one we see when we sit at the table.

There was a great reminder in our Daily Guidepost today about starting each day with an attitude of gratitude; the writer revealing her habit of coming up with five things to be thankful to God for each morning.  I think it’s a wonderful idea!  And it reminded me of the family habit we used to have.  Each evening after dinner, we each had to say something we were thankful for from that day and I’d write it down.  Sometimes they were serious things, sometimes funny little things, but it was a great notebook of praise for quite a while!

I spent the day working on blog stuff, even though the service is excruciatingly slow here.  I didn’t get much done in the way of actually posting, but at least all the writing and pictures got caught up.  Here’s a fun fact:  I have just over 600 pages and 345,000 words typed in Word that have been posted to the blog – and that doesn’t include the picture captions.  Okay.  Well maybe that’s not so fun for you.  But it made me think, “Whoa!  That’s like two novels!”

And Blaine attempted – albeit very slowly – to get some banking done. (This was before his big adventure.)

Blaine went out for a walk today.  Seven miles later, he returned.  He didn’t plan on that long of a walk.  He also didn’t plan on getting lost.  But with a good sense of direction and a map, he made it home.  Just very thirsty and tired when he returned.

Hmmmm . . . . .

That’s a very interesting root system!

He’s still on-trail at this point.

Ummm . . . sometimes you really should heed the warning signs . . . .

But then again, if he had, he wouldn’t have discovered the sinkhole!

Those are full-sized tall trees!

Here’s a clue . . .

He said he followed the power lines for a while.

Until he got to a road that was on the map.
Obviously, the road was closed. See all the leaves?

I revived him with a chilled bottle of water and fresh chocolate chip cookies!
