How many are Your works, LORD! In wisdom You made them all; the earth is full of Your creatures. ~ Psalm 104:24
Blaine noted that there were no laundry facilities at our next stop, so today was another laundry day. It took all morning because I had three loads and only two working washers, plus the dryers aren’t all that hot and it took an extra cycle for the bedspread. Plus, they weren’t walking distance – at least not for laundry. But these days, doing three loads of laundry’s about all the energy I can muster.
After lunch, Blaine convinced me to try another bike ride. I find it incredulous that being down for a few days has almost totally wiped out my strength and stamina! Even pushing harder on my bike pedals is difficult! Good thing we’re in the flatlands.
Today’s trip took place on trails. At times, it felt like I should maybe have a mountain bike because of the roots. 😊 We’d walked these particular trails last year. Some of you may remember the middens and the still. But unlike last year’s cool overcast and fog, we had sun and warmer temperatures.
It was a good ride that gave me an opportunity to begin building myself back up again (but I’m still hacking). And as you can see, it was also uneventful.
Until . . . . .
Errrrrrrrkkk!!!!
Standing right in the middle of the trail, was a raccoon! I stopped, he plodded over to the base of a nearby tree. I encouraged Blaine to get off his bike and take pictures. Well, his camera’s better!
And then, a most incredible thing happened – – – the beast came to visit us! Up close and personal! Blaine was worried, I wanted to pet it. We found common ground. He didn’t chase it off, I stayed on my bike and talked to it.
Do you supposed it’s used to handouts from someone? It sure was cute! And made our day!
