It’s All About The Fruit 02/15/19

Lake Louisa State Park, Clermont, Florida

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control.  ~ Galatians 5:22

Sometimes there’s a reason I choose the Bible verses I do.  Today is one of those days.

We’re struggling a bit with some of that fruit when it comes to getting our slide issue taken care of.  I guess it’s good we have the Holy Spirit in us to provide these things, because if we had to rely only on ourselves, I hate to think what we’d be like!  Yikes!

So, Nick called this morning – probably right after he arrived to work and got all the messages.  😊 He didn’t have any information, but I’ll at least give him credit for calling.  That’s pretty good customer service, and something I did when I was working.  You know . . . . at least let the customer know you haven’t forgotten about them and you’re actively working on the problem.  People appreciate that.  So Nick gets props from me for that – even though Blaine wasn’t quite as impressed.  Oh.  So what did he say?  He’ll check into what’s going on and call back, at which time, Blaine reminded him that it’s now Friday, and we leave on Monday, and their repair shop isn’t open on Saturday or Sunday.

Three pm.  Nick still knows nothing, but has an assurance that the part was, in fact, shipped on Wednesday.  He knows nothing about a tracking number to check on it.  How can that be???

And then, later, lo and behold, Nick found the location of our part! (Bet he was able to locate a tracking number . . .)  It’s in Macon, Georgia and should arrive to their facility by end of day Monday.  Well, isn’t that just great??? (Do you detect a small amount of sarcasm here?  You should!)

Now our question is – and this is another customer service thing – if we are supposed to pay for shipping anyway, is there some reason we weren’t given the option to have it over-nighted?  Knowing that we were facing a deadline?  And another thing, every office I ever worked in knew approximately what time each company’s shipments would arrive.  The drivers make the same routes and they graced our door within a couple of hours each and every time.  Don’t you find that’s true even with your home deliveries?  I’m quite certain Fed Ex shows up at General RV in Tampa around the same time each day it makes deliveries.  Why is it that no one knows this?  Do I sound frustrated?  Do I sound negative?  Thank God for the Holy Spirit!

Anyway, it’s all a moot point now.  We have to be out of our site by 1pm Monday afternoon.

So what will we do?

We’ve decided that we’re going to hang around the State Park until 1pm (if we don’t get a phone call first) and then drive over to General RV and park in their lot.  Until they kick us out or get us fixed.  😊

Blaine’s already cancelled our place for Monday night.

And we remind ourselves that God is in control.  And He’s walking with us through all of this.  And He knows exactly what’s going to transpire.  And His Holy Spirit calms us and gives us a peace which transcends all understanding.  Praise be to God!

This is a hand-out they had printed and sits around the office for all to read.
See the first item on the list? Note it’s listed as a CRITICAL issue.
But then also note the fine print on the bottom.
Hmmmmm . . . . .

Now on to the niceties of today!  😊

I don’t have much in the way of pictures, but we took about a 1 ½ hour bike ride today.  And since my wonderful husband took the morning to fix my bike, it was a great ride – despite the fact that there are hills here!  Thanks, hon!

After a fairly long bike ride , we came to the barn for the horses. They offer trail rides here for $50/hour. We’ve never seen horses around the Park, so I don’t know how many rides they actually do.

And  . . . . another sunset!
