For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ~ Jeremiah 29:11
It’s Monday. We had to leave this wonderful site, and drive back to General RV – hoping to leave there tomorrow morning.
Something that finally occurred to me during my prayer time this morning – – – we are living a God Moment! Those of you who’ve been reading the blog know that we move around frequently. Well, eleven months ago when Blaine made this reservation, God knew exactly where we needed to be and for how long, and He inspired Blaine to make the decision, even though he didn’t realize it at the time! Isn’t that crazy wonderful?!?
That revelation was a great start to our day!
And then I turned on the lights.
And promptly discovered not just one – – but two – – spiders in my kitchen! Blaine bravely squashed one, but the other got away when our backs were turned for a split second! For me, that’s infinitely worse than finding one, because now I know it’s here, and have no idea where. Blaine offered to wash the dishes, because the last place it was seen was along the counter’s edge at the sink . . .
I’m thinking of buying him a suit of armor and/or a white horse for Christmas . . . .
And yes. I do realize that I will eventually have to return to the kitchen sink for something, but by then, maybe it will have crawled into a hole and died.
What a difference a day makes! Yesterday was blistering hot with full sun. The lakes were sparkling and blue. This morning, was about ten degrees cooler and somewhat breezy – – but there is heavy cloud cover, and the lakes are gray to match the sky. It’s also extremely humid. So humid that it’s even bothering me. Usually, humidity doesn’t bother me, but Blaine never likes it. Today, he’s suffering some under it. But not for long. Just for our hour walk this morning to go pick some more lemons before we leave for General RV. 😊
12:50pm and we’re headed out of the Park, but first we have to drop off our trash. Oooops!!I put our trash in the recycle dumpster! It was too big and too empty to get it back out. Sorry! I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s done that. The actual dumpster is behind a 10’ fence. And we’ve never seen a recycle dumpster before – it’s usually just “trash cans”.
So now we’re on the road, and as we approached Orlando, we noticed a miles and miles and miles long backup on Eastbound I-4! Thank goodness we were traveling west today! We don’t know what happened, but we felt really bad for the people sitting in 4-lanes of practically stopped traffic!
We pointed our nose toward Tampa at 1:00pm. We were roughly 30 minutes out when Blaine received a call from Nick. I talked with him since Blaine was driving. He said they still didn’t have the part – it’s sitting in Ocala, Florida. Well that’s not Tampa, is it? I told him we would see him in about 30 minutes and he seemed surprised, but handled it well. Said we could hopefully find a place to plug in while we waited.

When we arrived, we parked in their sort of overflow lot. All the power sites were taken – not that there were very many, just maybe six? And the day had turned hot and sunny again. We met a couple of our neighbors though and no one was having a good experience. At least not today.
But the exciting part of the day was that we were able to serve these people we met! The couple asked for help several times (the last being at 9:30pm) and we helped the other guy by loaning him a power cord extension so he could plug into our power pole. Oh, that’s right! I forgot to mention – we were sitting outside our coach in chairs in the parking lot, when Blaine noticed an employee hook up the fifth wheel on the end and haul it away! I ran down and stood in the spot, while Blaine moved the coach! Yay! We even have grass!
No more calls from Nick today.
When it was dinnertime, Blaine took me to a restaurant he found online – Fred’s Market Restaurant. It was a little too good! A Southern buffet that served things like fried chicken, black-eyed peas, collard greens, ribs, salads, grits (which neither of us tried, bleh!), cornbread (which we skipped) and fantastic sourdough rolls (which is why we skipped the cornbread 😊), and several other things, plus – the desserts. Scrumptious pecan pie, brownies, ice cream, peach cobbler, and strawberry shortcake. And that’s just the things we tried! And all for just under $16/person. But then we were stuffed, and there was no place to walk, and it was dark, so we just went “home”.
And just for good measure – – – another spider (not the one we lost in the kitchen) ran across my bed! Blaine managed to get that one, but still helped make for a sleepless night! How many more do we have? And why? Is it somehow connected with our slide not extending?
