Markham County Park, Sunrise, Florida
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble . . . even as I try to please everybody in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved. I Corinthians 10: 31-32
Other than a quick bike-around and a short walk on the Park’s nature trail . . . . .
Contentedly munching on grass.
More lizard chasing. : )
. . . . . . we spent the rest of the day trying to get home for Christmas.
It’s not as easy as you might think, because this year we’ll be over in Louisiana or eastern Texas in December.
While we managed to find a few campgrounds that will allow us to leave our home-on-wheels unattended in their park (of course we still have to pay for the privilege), it’s proven difficult to find reasonable airfare. It’s about an eighteen-hour drive – – – without stops. If we didn’t love our family and friends so much, we’d probably just say, forget it. But that’s definitely not an option!
So we sat facing each other all afternoon and into the evening with artificial light from our laptop screens bathing our faces in a nice ethereal glow. And have very little to show for it.
After dinner, we were desperate to get out and walk for a bit, but it wasn’t meant to be. We no sooner escaped the confines of our bus, when a storm rose up fast and furious! It didn’t really drop rain – just a few sprinkles – but the wind blew hard and the temperature took a nosedive and the clouds looked very menacing! We turned around and headed back to our comforting glow.
After the darkest clouds passed, the rain came. A fairly short-lived torrential downpour that flooded our neighbor’s yard, but not ours.
Hope Hoppy’s okay . . . .
