Paddle Hands 03/02/19

Markham County Park, Sunrise, Florida

The Lord does not look at the things man looks at.  Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. ~  I Samuel 16:7b

I enjoy early morning walks, weather permitting.  This morning I was out the door by 7:20am, but I didn’t get to walk as much as I’d like and didn’t get to pray much either, because there’s too many distractions for me to concentrate on prayer.  At least I got in some praise!  We’ve always appreciated the glories of God’s creation, but since we’ve been on the road, we notice soooo much more!  It’s truly miraculous how diverse our Creator God made this world for us to live in.  He didn’t have to do that.  He did it because He loves us so much!

Other than my short walk, we stayed in all day.  We were tired, our bodies still recovering from the past two days – and especially yesterday, and we needed to avoid the sun.  But that’s okay.  We had plenty to do with blogging and research for next year’s schedule, plus finishing 2019.

Part of that was securing airline tickets to come to Ohio for two weeks at Christmas!  We’ll be home from the 17th – 30th!

Then we went to dinner, which was really an early dinner/late lunch.  The dinner that we were supposed to have for the past two days.  I did some checking and ending up choosing Lucille’s American Café.  It’s close (only 10 minutes away) and was supposed to have great comfort food. I imagine she had to designate (or maybe add) the ‘American’ part because there are so many other types of food around here.

It was very good!  And they had 50’s music playing, and the décor was sort of ‘dressed-up’ diner style, and the food was all homemade!  And when was the last time you received restaurant food that was so hot you had to spit it out – – 5 minutes after it was sat in front of you? Unfortunately, Blaine didn’t get what he wanted, but we eventually figured out it was because he ordered the wrong thing.  They had two types of BBQ chicken, and he got the other one.  But it was still good.  Just missing cheese, bacon and tomatoes.  Well okay, that’s not just.  He should’ve said something.

Here’s her story. Bad lighting for taking pictures of the menu though.
Recognize anyone? haha!
We were half done before I realized I hadn’t taken a picture. Ooops! That’s homemade applesauce and those are the mashed potatoes that burned my mouth, and I had two of those chops. Blaine’s BBQ’d half chicken is just about gone.

After dinner we needed someplace to walk around, so Blaine drove us to a “mall”, but it was outside instead of inside (no sun, remember) and there wasn’t much of interest for us, so we went home and got back to work.  😊

This is a mall down here in Central Florida. Bet those of you in Ohio wish you could have one of these right about now! : )

Upon our return to the Park, we noticed hordes of people and cars and several jumpy houses and wondered what in the world was going on this afternoon.  We had a letter to mail in the office, so I asked and was told it was all various birthday parties!  The people really make use of their Park here!

Oh!  Sorry!  I almost forgot about the ‘paddle hands’!  When I was walking this morning, I happened to look down at my hands.  Half of all my fingers and thumbs are whiter than the rest of my hand.  Paddle Hands.  Caused by curling my fingers around my paddle while I’m out in the blazing hot sun for hours, thus shielding them from the sun.

Beautiful sunset tonight!
