Camping Transit, Levis, Quebec, Canada (Quebec City)

I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion.  ~ Proverbs 8:12

We had a lovely 3-hour, 169 mile drive today!  There are more pines now, lots of wildflowers of various colors and varieties.  It was a flat road, but there were mountains visible out either side, large farms, and glimpses of the much wider St. Lawrence River.

We’re guessing from the various signage along the road that the mountains on the right are the Appalachians.  We never realized how long they are!  The range runs from about the middle of Alabama, all the way up to where the St. Lawrence meets the Atlantic at the Gaspe’ Peninsula, where we’ll be staying for a few days!

A chicken (hiding behind the sign, a moose and two cows.
Gosh. I guess the chicken really did come first! : )
Canola!
Remember those gorgeous fields from two years ago?

We were able to stop at a Visitor Center along the way and discovered much more French.  Even the books and brochures have little, or poor, English.  I always find it humorous when a foreign person makes their best effort at writing in English.  It’s not bad, but you can always tell.  😊  And of course, I’m at a loss to find you any examples. . . .

Camping Rimouski & Motel of Anse, Quebec, Canada

We had to climb a hill to get to our site today, and it’s a good thing the neighbors across from us had yet to arrive, otherwise, I don’t know how in the world Blaine would’ve managed to fit our home between the campers on either side.  It’s more like row house living here.  There is no yard, but the view out the front?  Spectacular!  And it’s really nice they set the sites up so you can see between the front row.

That’s our picnic table on the left.
The campground set out four chairs so you can sit and watch the water or the sunset.
It truly is a mini farm. : )
But there’s cows living next door at the neighbor’s.

Oh.  And the neighbors on the left have two little bundles of white fur.  And we think their son plays hockey because they have a bunch of equipment – including a stick and heavy gloves.

That’s Spit and Spat.
Just kidding. I have no idea what their names are. : )

We drove into town for a short walk-about to get the lay of the land and exercise our legs.

Bet you can guess what this is!
A good way to practice our French. : )
Another street closed for a party.
They must do that a lot around Quebec. : )
Looking one way – the grass looks a little yellow . . .
. . . but turn and look the other, and it’s emerald green!
It’s all in the lighting!

And I looked up the word “Anse”.  The French to English translator says it’s “handle”.  Not sure what that has to do with a Motel. . . .   Unless it’s a homonym like bark or die or match or ring.
