I Have A Dream 09/12/19

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.  ~ Psalm 37:4

HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO KYLE AND SHENA!  Kyle’s our younger son.  I still like to think of him that way.  It just sounds better than admitting he’ll be 33 in a few weeks.

It’s good to have dreams.  Not the weird kind you get when you’re sleeping; the goal kind.  The kind that motivate you toward an end result.  It was Blaine’s dream with God’s approval and guidance that got us where we are today.

Today, I found a dream.  Unfortunately, mine has little chance of realization, but I certainly am not putting it out of reach for the Father.  If He desires me to achieve my dream, then I shall have it.

It’s about a 30 minute drive to Hershey, PA from Lewisberry.  And no, my dream isn’t more chocolate.  Chocolate without any calories and full of vitamins and minerals maybe, but that’s not my dream today.

We spent the day at America’s largest RV Show!  Blaine wanted to sit in on some seminars, and Thursday is ‘senior day’ where you can get in for half-price.  It’s hard to imagine that we’re old enough for a senior discount. . . . At any rate, it’s BOGO day for us.  😊

The line to get in was unbelievable!  It took us about 25 minutes from parking lot to entrance!  But at least we were in line with another couple willing and eager to spend the time talking.  They’re from Lancaster and owned a piano shop, have two sons and think nothing of Hershey Park because they live so close.  (kinda like we don’t think of Cedar Point as all that special 😊)  They also told us that in the Spring, before Hershey opens, they invite schools in for free and let them ride and do science and physics educational stuff.  Good for them!

Eventually, we entered the actual show and began our walk around.  We sat in on a couple of seminars.  One wasn’t as we expected, so we skipped their second presentation.  It was supposed to be about travel in the Rocky Mountains and the other on Alaska.  Instead of an actual talk, the guy played his personal travel video for us.  And it was very outdated too.  We’d suspected that may be the case, but we gave it a try.  Another seminar, I read my book, but Blaine really enjoyed it.  Here too, it wasn’t as we’d expected.  They’d posted the wrong topic in the book.  But the guy was an excellent presenter, and Blaine still learned stuff, just not the stuff he was expecting.  😊

But as usual, the best part of the day was walking in and out of motorhomes.

It was during this exercise that I discovered my dream.  It’s 40’ long, lovely interior . . . . and windows!  Lots and lots of glass!  In addition, there was comfortable furniture, electric stove (which I miss sometimes) and plenty of storage, etc.  The only thing that was uncertain was the pantry and finding a suitable place for the toaster oven that’s not in front of a window.  I love my toaster oven and large pantry.  This pantry (and in all of the other coaches we were in) has a tall, narrow one that pulls out of the wall like a drawer on the other side of the frig.  And did I mention windows?  Oh, yes, it has windows! Big, beautiful windows!

You can’t see all the windows in this picture, but look how bright it is!
They were on both sides, and close to twice as tall as the ones we have now!
Yikes!

I was in heaven, until Blaine brought it all crashing back down to reality.

Even with the sale price, it’s still way more than what we paid for the one we have now.  Plus, we’d have to do all the modifications we’ve already paid for again (like the towing system, the closets, the removal of the washer/dryer to make the closets, the satellite dish, the couch . . . . )

Sigh . . . . . .

Lord, help me win the lottery!  Oh.  First I have to buy a ticket.  I’ve never bought a lottery ticket, so I guess He’ll have to find another way.  😊

Dinner was at the Hershey Park Grill, and although we don’t have pictures, it was really good!  Blaine had an excellent Reuben and I went with healthy.  A Blue (as in blue cheese) Apple Cranberry Chicken wrap in a spinach wrap and a bowl of fresh fruit!  Boy was it good!  And pretty too!  😊
