Fire And Ice 11/18/19

Northgate RV Park, Athens, Alabama

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.  ~ Proverbs 16:18

Can’t remember what all we did today, but part of it was spent in Athens’ Downtown Historic District, revisiting old haunts.  We ventured into the U.G. Mercantile, walked around the streets of the town, and had dinner at a great pizza and wing restaurant.  This is the place where 1 ½ years ago, we discovered Alabama’s secret sauce – – that mayonnaise-based sauce they put on everything.  Today we couldn’t wait to devour their works pizza and fire and ice wings!  We weren’t disappointed!  Fantastic!! And no, we didn’t take pictures of our food. We did that last time. You can re-visit April, 2018 if you really want to see it. 😊

The outside is not very impressive . . .
. . . but inside? It’s a whole n’other story!
And really expensive clothes!
This very thin wool coat, while it looks really nice, was almost $200!
Good thing I already have coats. : )
This is the First United Methodist Church.
We took pictures of the Courthouse last time.
Impressive building! It looks the same on each of the four sides.
And now that we’ve spent some time learning things about the Civil War,
this plague meant more to us than it would have a year-and-a-half ago.
This was about 14 months before Gettysburg.
Waiting on our pizza and wings at Village Pizza.

When we weren’t downtown, Blaine spent at least part of his day taking care of domestic chores – like sharpening my knives.  😊

He takes such good care of me!!
Of course, having sharp knives affects his meals,
so this might actually be a task that helps him out too. : )

I’m sure the rest of it was spent working on all the other issues we’ve been accumulating lately.  So blessed to have our Father walking with us every day!
