A Dead Scorpion 11/26/19

Carson Village, Birmingham, Alabama

Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting with strife.  ~ Proverbs 17:1

Today was spent with paperwork and a nap for me.  I didn’t get much of a nap, because we got new neighbors who were very quiet, but just as I was nodding off, she started yelling about something so I was awake.  I kept trying, but to no avail.  ☹

While I was supposed to be napping, Blaine spent his time with some ducks he found at a pond nearby. And hiked a short trail there.

Beautiful!
I don’t know . . . Musical Chairs?
At first, I thought this was a diving duck. But then I realized it was a turtle. : )

Before we knew it, it was time to head over to David’s for dinner.  He made this great meal for us that was at least healthy.  😊  And he cooked it in his smoker and a big green egg.  Have you ever had smoked vegetables?  They were sooo yummy!

Once again, we made pigs of ourselves.  Who could ever believe the three of us could eat so much?!?

The bin on the side is full of the pellets that cause the smoke. It’s a self-feeder. Nice, huh?
Can you believe three people ate almost all that food??
Told you! It’s a Big Green Egg
David said when he came out here this morning, he discovered a squirrel nesst behind the bar where Blaine’s standing. Said it took him several hours to clean it all up. Yikes!

And he found me a dead scorpion!  Well, it was almost dead anyway.  He’d swept it up with his shop-vac earlier this morning.  We never knew they could be so small!  It’s why he has all hardwood floors and wears his shoes in the house . . .  just in case.  Says if you get stung, it feels like a wasp sting.  Although he said he sprays around outside and hasn’t had any in the house for a long time.

While we were there, Blaine had a missed call who left a message.  It turned out to be our RV insurance company.  They found us after all, and want to talk about the accident.  We’re not too upset, because we’ve left it in God’s very capable hands.

Well, that’s good to know!

Another blessed day, despite the unwanted phone call!
