The Feasting Ends Today 11/28/19

Carson Village, Birmingham, Alabama

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.  ~ I Thessalonians 5:18

Since we already published a Special Edition for Thanksgiving, I’m keeping this post strictly personal.

We had a few moments to spare a walk around the campground again before we headed over to David’s to help get dinner ready.

It was another beautiful, but crisp day today!

My brother’s house taken from his driveway.
You can see part of his shop, too.

A great day for preparing  – – – –  and eating – – – – a 19# smoked turkey, three loaves of bread stuffing, 5# of mashed potatoes, 4 cans of green beans that included ½# of bacon, 4 cups of gravy, a dozen deviled eggs, a can of cranberry sauce, and a large apple pie.  Can you believe three people ate all that?!?!?!?

And in case you weren’t really thinking about it, that’s 5# of turkey (cuz ya gotta account for the bones, right?), a loaf of bread (one of those really long ones you get on the cheap), a little less than 1 1/2 # of potatoes, an entire can of green beans, more than a cup of gravy, 2 whole eggs, some cranberry sauce and 1/3 of a 12# pie. We better start climbing mountains again real soon!

Of all the opportunities he had to take my picture today,
he chose the one moment when I was doing something with my phone. . . .
But is that not the neatest pre-Thanksgiving meal kitchen you’ve ever seen??
My first plate. : )
Marie may have made the pie, but Blaine baked it!
Great job, both of you!

Well, I hope you said “No!”

But I can tell you, we didn’t have nearly as many leftovers as you’d think!

And everything was soooo tasty, we just kept eating and eating.  Typical Thanksgiving.  😊

Happy Thanksgiving, Mom!
This article was in David’s local paper.
We thought it worthy of passing on.

We sooo much enjoyed our visit with David!  And are tremendously thankful for the time we shared.  Now we all have to go on diets, because we consumed copious amounts of food this past week!
