Change Of Plans – Again 12/09/19

To have a fool for a son brings grief; there is no joy for the father of a fool.  ~ Proverbs 17:21

Blaine’s mind’s been working once again.  It’ always running.  Always thinking.  Always plotting and planning.  I don’t know how he does it.  I rarely think that much.  Of course, it shows.  😊

Anyway, he presented me with one of his many thoughts this morning.  “I’m thinking we should call Frog City and see if we can come in a day early.”  I have no problem with that, as long as the phone booth they have here actually works, or if the office will allow us to use their phone. We’ve done everything there is to do around here, and I miss my internet and phone service. (How did we manage 20 years ago???)  I miss being able to communicate with family and friends.  I miss being able to research everything from sugar cane farming to restaurants to places to visit to what in the world that thing was we ran across when we were kayaking the other day.  I miss being able to use my laptop to aid with my Bible study.  And I miss being able to post.

So I took a walk, and ended up in the office where they let me make my long distance call for free, and Frog City RV Park allowed us to come in early.  It’s a very short drive, so we packed up and took off around 12:30pm.

Off towards the next adventure!
A few of the homes along Levee Road as we drive out of the Park.
Crossing that scary bridge one last time!
This place left us speechless every time we drove past it this week.
I tried to capture it, but between us moving and trees in the way, I’m afraid I didn’t do very well. . . .
. . . . This is all the same place. It truly was unbelievable . . .
Look at that! It kinda looks like a Monet or something!
I have no idea why it turned out that way.
It’s a picture of a sugar cane field that’s just beginning to re-grow.
Driving back through the cane processing area.
Field workers. Not sure what they were doing though.
There’s some re-growth a little further along. Wonder if they harvest all year long?
One of the small towns we drove through today.
I don’t know how in the world Blaine manages!

It wasn’t supposed to rain until late today, but we encountered sprinkles and some light rain.  Fortunately, by the time we arrived, the rain let up just long enough for us to get set up and talk with our neighbor for a few minutes.

Boudinn & Cracklin?
This is the turn into our campground.
We have a truckstop and a Super 8 for neighbors this time. : )
That’s the pool and office.
Don’t think we’ll be using the pool. : )
They gave us cookies when we checked in!!
They’re not Tollhouse, but they were still very good!

Hopefully, we’ll be able to talk more with our interesting neighbors.  It’s a couple from South Africa who spent the past 9 years on a boat sailing around the oceans, decided to sell and sold so quickly, they have a RV and no house right now.  They’ve decided to ‘see our country’ for about 6 months before their visas will force them to return home.  It’ll be a really long drive to South Africa and you have to cross an ocean, so we don’t know what their plans are.  Anyway, we were just getting set up when we met, so that’s all we got.  Stay tuned!  We may have more if our paths cross again before one of us leaves.
