It was a rainy day today, so we re-visited the LBJ National Park. They have two 30-45 minute movies on the lives of Lyndon and Ladybird – one for each of them. In addition, there’s a large room with all kinds of information they’ve put together in a timeline format. Besides the information on the Johnsons, up along the top they included a timeline for other things going on in the world at the same time. Interesting, but we were kinda on information overload by this time, so we didn’t look at that as much.
One interesting bit of information – he proposed to her on their first date! It took her two months to accept. Now that’s a lightning fast courtship!
As you’ll see as you look through these pictures of the information boards, LBJ was able to have 200 laws passed during 1965-66 alone!
Wonder if you’ll be surprised to see them all? We certainly were!
