I AM the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die. ~ John 11:25-26
For the moment, we’re jumping right from Palm Sunday to Easter, because I just didn’t want to proclaim Christ’s resurrection a week or more from now. I’ll fill in the space between just as quickly as I can – and just like I did for Palm Sunday.
A long time ago, when the earth was green, there were more kinds of animals than we’ve ever seen! And God said . . . “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there He put the man He had formed. ~ Genesis 1:26, 2:8
Fast forward – – a looong way forward – –
Jesus came to earth as an infant, walked among us to teach us, and died to provide us a means of salvation from the wrath of God. He was buried in a garden tomb. We know this because as Mary Magdalene stands outside the tomb weeping because Jesus’ body wasn’t there, she mistakenly believes the resurrected Jesus is the gardener. (John 20:13-15)
Mortal life (Adam) began in a Garden – the Garden of Eden. Eternal life (resurrected Jesus) began in a Garden – the Garden of the Resurrection. How like God to connect the storylines!
And I take no credit for that observation. The idea came from Daniel Schantz in our Daily Guideposts devotional today. 😊
HE IS RISEN!!!!
And because He lives, we who believe in Him, will live forever with Him!
