Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared. ~ Proverbs 22:24-25
I’m actually writing this (without having taken or typed-up previous notes) on the 13th, so I remember virtually nothing of the intricacies of the day, unless it’s revealed in the pictures.
Up first today, was a trip to WalMart to get both groceries for the next two weeks, as well as stuff you can’t buy at the grocery store – like propane for our grill, etc. It was a different experience today, that’s for sure! First of all, there was a short line to get into the store – complete with people in masks and gloves. Everyone was required to stand at least 6’ apart and wait for the WalMart staff person to allow you entrance to the store. We had to wait for the person ahead of us to “clear the cart area” before we could enter, plus, they’re now limiting the amount of people allowed in the store at one time. I must say, it was the emptiest WalMart we’ve ever been in! Yet, even though we were there by 8:30am, there were still a lot of empty shelves. We had to buy paper towels to serve as napkins because there were absolutely none available! We noticed, still no toilet paper, although we didn’t need any. Where in the world is it all going??? We did happen to see an Arizona newscast that showed a restaurant giving away a roll to each take-out customer, so maybe . . . . Aw, who knows? It’ll probably be showing up at yard sales in the future!
Blaine’s research revealed the location of another Jeep road close to home – no map, just exploration, so that’s what we did today. It was cloudy and very windy, which made it feel quite a bit cooler today. We still removed the top from the Jeep, but kept our long sleeves on.
The drive was great fun, as always around here! And even though it was a National Forest road, we eventually came to a place where we simply couldn’t continue, so Blaine had to very carefully turn us around and head back the way we’d come.
We fell victim to impulse buying at WalMart and picked up a box of Lemon Pound cake. We decided to make it into muffins, and man were they good!! Highly recommend! I managed to wrestle six of them from Blaine and put them in the freezer for future indulging. We certainly don’t need to scarf down 12 muffins in a couple of days! Even with all the hiking we do!
And once again, Blaine went out for a bit without me after dinner. He took a couple of great weather pictures though!
