He Is Risen! (part two) 04/12/20

Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Cottonwood, Arizona

I AM the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die.  ~ John 11:25-26

A long time ago, when the earth was green, there were more kinds of animals than we’ve ever seen!  And God said . . . “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”  Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there He put the man He had formed.  ~ Genesis 1:26, 2:8

Fast forward – – a looong way forward – –

Jesus came to earth as an infant, walked among us to teach us, and died to provide us a means of salvation from the wrath of God.  He was buried in a garden tomb.  We know this because as Mary Magdalene stands outside the tomb weeping because Jesus’ body wasn’t there, she mistakenly believes the resurrected Jesus is the gardener. (John 20:13-15)

Mortal life (Adam) began in a Garden – the Garden of Eden.  Eternal life (resurrected Jesus) began in a Garden – the Garden of the Resurrection. How like God to connect the storylines!

And I take no credit for that observation.  The idea came from Daniel Schantz in our Daily Guideposts devotional today.  😊

HE IS RISEN!!!!

And because He lives, we who believe in Him, will live forever with Him!

We worshiped with our home church, The Chapel, this morning. They did an ‘on demand’ pre-recorded service, so we could worship whenever we were ready. It was kinda weird, singing and trying to worship side-by-side on the couch with the laptop. But under the circumstances, we were thankful to have anything at all.

After church, we went for a walk here in the Park.  We were looking to get closer to Tuzigoot.  It was a nice walk, but as you’ll see, we didn’t get very close.  😊

That’s Tuzigoot.
We certainly weren’t expecting to run across this!
The two very old cars are sitting in the middle of a wash.
If you study this picture, you’ll see Tuzigoot, another building (we’re guessing Visitor Center) and a white pick up (close to the right side).
That pick up is a State Park Ranger vehicle.
We’re assuming a Ranger sits in there all day to keep people away from the closed National Monument.
Something’s been gnawing on this tree! It’s up kinda high to be a beaver.
We have no idea what it is, but the Park has a motion detecting camera set up on the tree beside it.
Bet they’ll have fun watching us study this tree. : )
This is about as close as we got today. : (

Then it was back home and cook our Easter dinner!  We cooked like we were entertaining!  A 9# ham (WalMart and it was excellent!!) because we couldn’t find a smaller one, twice baked potato casserole, and Pennsylvania Dutch green beans.  Plus an excellent dessert (Chocolate Caramel Fantasy) that Blaine made from start to finish all by himself.  Well, except for shelling some pecans.  I did that because I wanted to use them up.  We’ve been carrying them around with us since I picked them up off the ground the end of January.

Our newest neighbors came in with all kinds of brand-spanking new stuff.
They’re so new, they had to read the instructions on how to set up. : )
Ahh . . . we remember those days!
Later this week, they also put up a new canopy over their new dog pen. : )
And you can’t really tell, but they put new lanterns in all the trees, and under their 5th-wheel.

And that’s our Easter!  How was yours?  Weird, huh?  No church – – no family gatherings – – no egg hunts – – .

Hopefully this will be the first and last time we celebrate this way!

He Is Risen Indeed!!!  And He remains on His throne!
