Driving Around Denver 07/28/20

Boyd Lake State Park, Loveland, Colorado

If anyone turns a deaf ear to the Law, even his prayers are detestable. ~ Proverbs 28:9

We relocated today – two hours and 75 miles south.  We’re still skirting around the outside, but instead of north, we now find ourselves south of Denver.  Blaine had a bit more complicated drive today, what with various required lane changes, turns and detours, but traffic wasn’t nearly as bad as we were expecting through Denver. And it was heavily overcast, but no rain or wind.

Leaving Loveland.
A bit more traffic, but not bad.
Another road name to remind us of home. : )
I didn’t quite catch this sign in time, but it says,
“Sweeping Operations . . . Watch for Crews”.
Wonder what in the world that means???
There were also several neon orange signs alongside the road for several miles with the same warning.
There’s downtown Denver.
The bridge is the story here. Note the height restrictions!
Our coach is 13’ 1”!
There was a sign a short distance back, that said for trucks to use the center two lanes,
but still . . . . what if you didn’t see that???

Out of metropolitan Denver and heading to our new pad.
This road we’re on is brand-spankin’ new!
Don’t know when they finished it, but you can tell it’s new.
They don’t even have all the official signage printed up yet.
This is our turn.
That stuff in the background? That’s a dam and resevoir within the Park boundaries.

Chatfield State Park, Littleton, Colorado

It looks kinda far away, but the mailing address for the Park is Littleton.

What a nice site Blaine claimed for us for the next nine days!  As with many State Parks, we have lots of room, but this Park also provides cement pads to park on, and our particular site looks out over a field where we can sit out on our patio he put together again, and enjoy birds and stuff.

This evening, we even had a short-lived thunderstorm!  We haven’t actually seen more than a few spits of rain for quite some time, so I welcomed the smell of ozone wafting on the stiff breeze that developed just before the rain hit.  It didn’t rain much, but at least it actually rained for a few minutes.  😊
