Words from a wise man’s mouth are gracious, but a fool is consumed by his own lips. ~ Ecclesiastes 10:12
NOTE: ***Glory be! It’s November 7th, and our website issues appear to be fixed! Now I get to play catchup, which won’t be as easy as it sounds, because I’ve been neglectful in my duties these past days.***
Now on to what really transpired on November 2nd.
I realized as we were driving today, that I forgot to add my map showing where we were parked. Oh, well. Too late now. Nah. Here it is:
We moved into Tennessee today. It took us 4 hours and 178 miles to get there. Plus, there were a number of obstacles.
First, it’s been pretty cold here at night, and since it was rainy the first part of our stay, there was some ice on the top of our large slide that Blaine had to scrape off this morning before we left. Then, just as we’re getting ready to pull out, the neighbors across the street decided to block the road with their pick-up truck. They weren’t anywhere near ready to hook up their camper and leave, so I walked over and politely asked him to move, which he did. And the last obstacle to getting out of here happened as we were preparing to turn right out of the campground and onto the main road. A small silver pole that we’d never noticed before was on the edge of the road across the street. We missed it by the skin of our teeth! Otherwise, we would’ve been blocking both sides of the road until we unhooked the Jeep (on a hill no less!), because we can’t back up with the Jeep attached; so Blaine could back up the motorhome and get a better run at the turn. Whew!!
I guess you could say the drive today was exciting. As you saw, we were on very narrow, winding roads with blind curves and unguarded drop-offs. And the jack sensor fluid alarm kept going off (beep…beep…beep), until we’d right ourselves and drive straight. When the fluid is a little low, and you go around sharp curves and hills, it sloshes the fluid to the side and the sensor goes off because it thinks you’re low on fluid. It’s a great warning system, but not so great today as there were many curves and hills.
