So Thanks-filled! 11/26/20 – 11/27/20

Carson Village, Birmingham, Alabama

And the LORD God said, “The man has now become like one of Us, knowing good and evil.  He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”  ~ Genesis 4:22

Thursday, 11/26 – Since I already posted for Thanksgiving, I’ll just take a second to tell you of our day.

It was wonderful to spend Thanksgiving Day with David!  We had a great time cooking and eating . . . and eating . . . and eating together, and then commiserating over our gluttony!  There’s plenty of leftovers, so we’ll be doing this all over again one evening in the near future.

The outside of David’s apartment.
Isn’t that tree gorgeous?!?
Butterball has a new easy-open package.
I’m exhausted from spending all day in the kitchen, and it shows! lol! I didn’t do much. Threw the stuffing together, made the mashed potatoes and then the gravy. That’s it! Eazy-peazy!
Great picture Blaine. Thanks for capturing the real me. . . .
The Three Muskateers!
David made the cranberry sauce and eggs – and the green beans.
That’s our bird Blaine slaved over for three hours!
Looks good enough to eat!!!

We had Marie’s Dutch Apple pie and ice cream as well!  There’s always room for pie, even when you’re over-stuffed. Yumm!!

Friday, 11/27 – Today, I’m praising the Lord for His provision!  There were several things that happened today to prove that!  There are several things going on back in Ohio related to family, and other issues that needed addressed today, and my Father saw to it that everything worked smoothly!  Thank You, Jesus!

And then, once all those things were taken care of, we went for a long hike with David on Ruffner Mountain. We’d done part of it with him last year, but there were some trails we hadn’t been on as well.

Route planning and male bonding. : )
Would you get a gander at the size of that mushroom?!?
That’s “The Crusher”.
Leftover from their rock mining days.
That shows you how huge it is!
This is an abandoned iron ore mine shaft.
Stop and look at the view!
That’s Birmingham in the distance! About 8 miles.
We’re back in the land of Resurrection Ferns!
I find these special plants amazing!
They lie dormant during drought, and then, as soon as there’s any moisture in the air,
they spring to life again!

And the day culminated with a delicious dinner at a local Mexican restaurant!  We were so hungry and the company so engaging (both David and our server, Gonzolo), we completely forgot to take food pictures.  But it was so good, Blaine has vowed to return before we leave the area!  I love that idea!

This is all I have to mark our time at the restaurant.
It was in one of the lovely planters out front.
Look how God painted the purple lines and included a yellow center! Magnificent!
