When they had seen Him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. ~ Luke 2:17-20
David took today off work in order to be present for the home inspection on his new place. We were going to get together after, but decided to just wait for dinner, to give him time to work on his own stuff.
Blaine and I set out for a short hike and also to check out tomorrow’s excursion.
We headed over to Black Creek Park a hop, skip and a jump from us, where they have a walking path and there’s also the start of a 5 ½ mile one-way bike trail. We’ll take that on tomorrow.
For dinner, David took us to Firehouse Subs. We’ve talked about going to one for a long time – ever since we first spotted them last year, I think. They’re kinda like Subway, but a portion of their proceeds goes to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, to be used to provide equipment to first responders. Since they began in 1994 in Jacksonville, Florida by firefighter brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen, they’ve opened over 1,180 restaurants in 46 states as well as Puerto Rico and Canada. They’ve granted over $53 million dollars for equipment, training and support to the hometown heroes.
The food was excellent! But just like everyplace else, it didn’t look like the ad. 😊
