The Christmas That Wasn’t 12/19/20

Carson Village, Birmingham, Alabama

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.  ~ Titus 3:4-5

The ants seem to have finally filled their bellies – – and those of any others in their nest.  Today we only had a few dozen, and some of those were turning up in random places.  I think I liked the conga line better.  At least then I knew where to avoid.

David came over this morning and the guys watched a nail-biter between THE Ohio State and Northwestern.

OSU pulled it out in the second half, ending with a score of 22-10.  Some other facts of the game?  It was the first time this season, they didn’t score on their opening drive, but remember, it’s only the 6th game this season because of Covid.  😊  When halftime came around, OSU fans were a bit deflated, and the team headed to the locker room behind 10-6.  But there was joy across the land (we’ve found OSU fans everywhere we go!), as Trey Sermon preached it to Northwestern, serving up 331 rushing yards.  The most EVER in any conference championship game in FBS history and broke OSU’s single-game record of 314 yards, held by 1995 Heisman Trophy winner, Eddie George.

You can tell it’s a slow day, week, and month, when you find me -not Blaine – researching and quoting College Football game stats.

We were supposed to be celebrating Christmas with all my family at my Mom’s today.  ☹  I guess it’s good we didn’t get together today, this way, everyone could watch the game, and not be squirming and sneaking peeks at their phones as they wondered what was happening.

At the conclusion of the game, the three of us celebrated the win by gorging on ribs and loaded baked potatoes.
