Then Noah built an altar to the LORD and taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in His heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures as I have done.” ~ Genesis 8:20-21
It was a busy day today! Celebrating Christmas always is, isn’t it?
Why are we celebrating Christmas? Because part of our errands today was to pick up our mail. My mom had sent things to my brother, David in Alabama, but with the bogged down delivery service, it didn’t arrive until well after we’d left, so David packed up our stuff, along with a gift for Blaine that didn’t arrive on time, and sent it here – General Delivery. Fun!
Traditionally, a birthstone is associated with each month of the year. For example, the birthstone for January is a garnet, while babies born in April get a diamond as their birthstone.
The origin of birthstones is believed to date back to the breastplate of Aaron which contained twelve gemstones representing the twelve tribes of Israel.
The idea of birthstones has a place in many traditions, customs, and belief systems. ~ americangemsociety.org
Then Blaine got his hair cut, we shopped at a couple of stores, washed and dried seashells, and did some blogging.
We’ve been having some technical issues with my laptop that have caused delays in posting, which is how I got so far behind. But true to form, Blaine finally figured it out. Problem solved! I swear. That man can fix anything!
He took a two-hour bike ride this afternoon, while I stayed home and worked. What do you think of that? 😊
