Abram went up from Egypt …(to) where his tent had been earlier and where he had first built an altar. There Abram called on the name of the LORD. ~ Genesis 13:1-4 Abram, who was supposed to be a blessing, ended up being a curse. But he returned to where he had made the decision to go off on his own, and began again. That’s what God calls us to do. Whenever we find ourselves separated from God’s will, we need to repent and begin again.
We woke to gentle flashes of light in the dark sky. As we watched out the front windows, those gentle flashes turned into brighter ones, and the wind picked up. The sun attempted an appearance, turning everything brown, but much of its light was dimmed by the thick clouds racing by. It took about an hour, but heavy rain arrived on the scene to add its rhythm to the wind, which continued to grow stronger, driving the rain into the side of our home. It was a glorious early morning!
After it cleared out, and we were able to walk about five miles around the campground. Funny how the sand just soaks up all that rain and leaves most everywhere dry! We had to burn some calories to make up for the Super Bowl food we were prepared to consume – homemade wings, a cheese ball, veggie pizza (that was the healthy part!), and more of that luscious cake we bought.
Ugh!! We ate too much as usual.
The 55th Bowl game didn’t go our way, and it wasn’t even a particularly good game, with Tom Brady leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a decisive victory over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs (sorry Uncle Nick and Aunt Sherri!) Final score? 31-9. ☹
At least my mom was happy. 😊
