The Cat Next Door 02/19/21

Highlands Hammock State Park, Sebring, Florida

“I am the LORD … (who will) give you this land to take possession of it.”  “O Sovereign LORD, how can I know that I will gain possession of it?”  “Bring me a heifer, a goat and a ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon.”  Abram brought all these to Him, cut them in two and arranged the halves opposite each other; the birds, however, he did not cut in half.  Then birds of prey came down on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away.  ~ Genesis 15:7-11  This is where our phrase “cut a deal” comes from.  Quite a bit from our everyday life comes from the Old (and New) Testament!

Praise God for the Davids, Andreas and Jackies in your life!
And if you can, take a moment to thank them too!

We’ve discovered that there’s a cat that lives next door.  They put it on a leash once or twice a day and let it walk around.  Today, it got to check out Blaine as he did some work over at our water hook up.  I’d say it needs a little more exercise than that – or a little less food.  What do you think?  😊

We didn’t do a lot today, but we managed to get in some exercise.  I spent an hour-and-a-half on the phone with Blaine’s sister Sandy (the soon to be published author!), and whenever I do that, I walk the entire time.  Couldn’t tell you where I’ve been or what I’ve seen, but at least I get 2-3 miles of steps in!  Blaine rode around on his own on his bike.

Once we were done with that, it was time to drive to town to WalMart.  We had to pick up enough supplies to get us through the next six days without a trip to the store.  I’m not sure we can manage that.  Since Blaine retired and goes shopping with me, we never seem to make it more than a couple of days.  Back when he was working, I managed to feed a family of four and only went to the store once a week.  Hmmmm . . . . .

We went biking around the Park again once the stuff was put away.

And that’s all she wrote!  Tomorrow we move on.
